David Foster Wallace
24 x 24 "
American. (1962-2008)
Known for his brilliant avant-garde prose and high-powered intellect and observations, David Foster Wallace is hailed as one of the finest writers of the latter half of the 20th century. His titanic novel Infinite Jest, which tackles America's obsession with entertainment, drugs, addiction, depression, and loneliness, has long been praised as a modern cult classic. In spite of his literary and cultural success, Wallace struggled with severe depression most of his life, which tragically ended in suicide at the age of 46. The immensely rich work he left behind remains as valuable, confronting, and relevant today as ever.
